Can someone sue a DJ just because she didn;t like him?

My husband performed DJ services for a girls wedding. She hired him on the phone, He attempted to make contact with him several times , but she would not return his calls. The reception was to be from 4:30 - 9:30. He went at 12 noon he went at 12 noon and set up his equipment. He finished at 2:30, at 3:00 he was asked to start playing. The wedding party and guest started leaving at 8:00, so the wedding coordinator told him he could start taking things down. The bride is now mad saying she pain for 5 hours and he only played 3. She also has been putting deformation remarks on the internet tarnishing my husband and my 17 year old son that assisted my husband, Now can she sue or what or what recourse do I have?
