Can anyone please help me determine the attitude and tone in this passage?

I've never had to use 'attitude' in any rhetorical analysis before so you're kinda stuck with that one, but tone I can help with. The first passage uses rhetorical questions and appositives, along with selective diction, to create a dignified and florid passage. The second also uses rhetorical question, but focuses more on syntax. The passage also uses more selective word choice than the first ("toothpase tube squeezers"). The passage is dignified, eloquent, and florid. Good luck!
